About

The U.S. Federation for Middle East Peace’s primary mission is to promote understanding and tolerance between the American public and the peoples of the Middle East. We strive to educate citizens of the world and Americans in particular, on the culture, traditions, history and issues pertaining to the Middle East and its people. This is part of our effort to initiate dialogues and discussions, in the hopes that they would lead to establishing steps toward creating and sustaining peace in a region plagued with turmoil and instability.

The Federation aims to mobilize ordinary members of societies in all regions of the world particularly women and youth in contributing to the establishment of peace in the Middle East. We believe women and youth are under-utilized members of society whose potential could be harnessed and channeled towards effective peace efforts. Federation President Sally Kader addresses a gatheringIn light of September 11th, 2001, there is an urgent need for Americans to understand the Middle East and for the societies in the Middle East to learn about the American principles and way of life. People can no longer afford to be passive bystanders to acts of violence committed against all humanity in the name of any religion. Without mutual respect and understanding, stereotypes will prevail and conflicts will ensue. The Federation provides venues for participants in our programs to exchange knowledge and ideas about their situations. These participants come from different backgrounds and are not limited to politicians or government officials. We hope to instill the seeds for peace into the minds of the people who live and experience these conflicts in their daily lives. We work to disseminate accurate information to participants of our programs by conducting face-to-face meetings, seminars, conferences and roundtable discussions.
